This is my birthday present this year (2005). It is a multi part white metal kit with plastic wings. I saw one at Warhammer World on display and knew I wanted one. It's part of the lord of the rings collection that games workshop produce. I wanted one to build, paint and display as a model.
I have started construction of the main body but have had a few minor problems which weren't overly unexpected with this kind/size of model. Things like the tail, feet and legs just don't assemble strong enough with CA glue. So I am having to pin the pieces to provide extra support and strength to the joint. Some of the photo's provide detail of the pins. Once assembly is finished then I will trim the pins and fill all required areas with milliput.
I have just bought some reasonably priced bases that are made of oak. The base cost £2.99 and is finished in a lightweight satin varnish. The plastic round base that the miniature is currently bonded too will be removed and then the wooden base will have some flocking or basing material to reflect the battlefield.
